CUBAO LIONS CLUB CELEBRATES 31 YEARS OF SERVICE Organized in 1970, The QUEZON CITY CUBAO LIONS CLUB marks its 31st charter anniversary and 32nd induction ceremonies for the new set of executive officers, new members, committee chairmen, and the very special and lasting partner of the club- QC CUBAO LIONS CLUB LADIES CIRCLE - for Lion Year 2000-2001. This twin celebration will be held on the 2nd of September 2001 at the Sulo Hotel in Diliman, Quezon City. Led by the Induction Committee Chairman Lion Tony A. Cubacub, the affair's program of activities promises to be a successful night of fun and music. Aside from the induction and anniversary celebrations, other highlights include the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Quezon City Dental Society, Inc. (QCDSI), and a twinning agreement with the Houston Millennium Lions Club of Texas, USA. Lion Rey C. Espulgar, who used to steer the dental society several years back and who is the chairman of the club's Health Services Committee, spearheaded and almost solely handled the preliminary arrangements for the MOA signing. This MOA will ensure a year-long implementation of the dental care program to serve indigent beneficiaries. Various dental heath care aspects such as providing of partial frontal dentures will also be part of the program which will be implemented outside the health center or through the Adopt-a-Barangay Project. The twinning agreement between the QC Cubao Lions Club and the Houston Millennium Lions Club encourages the exchange of information, materials, support and assistance that shall redound to the benefit of both clubs. Initially worked out by Lion PP Manny C. Cuasay during one of his early visits to the USA, and pursued further by the club through the Committee on International Understanding chaired by Lion PP Dom V. Perena, the signing of the accord adds meaning and color to the night's activities. The inducting officers are Lions District Gov. Alex M. Dumrique, Vice District Gov. Susan D.V. Brizuela, and District First Lady Nits Dumrique for the key officers and directors, new members, and the Ladies Circle, respectively. The inductees will be lead by Lion Pres. Erick E. Angeles, who will expound on his program of administration during the president's address. Immediate Past Pres. Rey T. Arboleda will also deliver his valedictory address immediately after the ceremonial turning over the gong and gavel, the official symbol of the presidency.
